[http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Paton_Jackson]Paton Jackson
2006 is already here and many ask me what we should expect of the emerging interesting market of Audio Books. Audio books have been here for over 20 years and they have become so popular in the last couple of years but yet I claim that the audio books revolution has just begun.
Find out the hot trends in the audio books market for 2006:
1. Less audio books on CD and cassettes and more downloadable audio books – MP3 audio books and other formats of digital audio books will become cheaper and more reachable, While audio books on CD and books on tape are much less convenient and user friendly. The amount of podcast listeners who download audio books from the internet to listen on their mobile devices such as iPod will rise significantly.
2. Audio book rental services will become the most common method of listening to audio books – Similar to the DVD market, most audio book listeners will prefer renting audio books instead of buying them. This trend will be the strongest for downloadable audio books but also true for audio books on CD and books on tape.
3. Free audio books – More online audio book services will offer low cost and free audio books by free trials and special sales.
4. Audio books will invade Europe – While the audio book market in the United kingdom is developed and have reached a turnover of 124$ million in 2004, The market in Germany is constantly rising and have already reached a turnover of 120$ million in 2005. The audio book market in the whole continent is expected to rise in about 20% during 2006.
Sony has also recognized the emerging market of digital audio books and has recently announced of a new audio book mobile player. The new product will let the users store and listen to digital audio books and is predicted to gain the same popularity as the “iPod”.
Audio books will be a part of everyone’s life. Join the audio book revolution!

Do I Have to Sell My Comic Books on EBay?

Answer: No.
If you need to sell your comics and don't want to go through the hassle of listing them on eBay. Here are 4 steps for you to follow:
(1) Put together a one page list of the comics you're selling. Be sure to accurately grade your comics, include the price you want and the cost of mailing them to your buyers. If you want examples, visit a few comic book websites and see what the best comic sellers have done.
(2) Once you have your list done, e-mail it it out directly to on-line comic dealers who are buying comics. Find them by just going to google and enter: "comic dealers." Email them your list and give them a deadline date to respond back to you. Tell them they can either call or e-mail you to let you know if they're interested. Be flexible. Be willing to negotiate. But hold firm in your price.
(3) Once you have your list, you can also put it up on your own website. Don't have a website? No problem. You can get a free blog by Blogger.com and have your website up in about 5 minutes -- for nothing -- put your list there and keep your comics on-line as long as you want. Never again feel pressured to sell at anything other than at your own price..
(4) Use eBay. Try this as a last resort. eBay is like a garage sale. Everybody there is trying to get comics at low ball prices. So if you do use eBay and are firm on your price, use a reserve price auction. Then if you're not able to get the price you want (your reserve) then you can follow-up with eBay bidders directly and refer them to the comics on your blog.

June and August - By Vivian Walsh

June and August - By Vivian Walsh

June and August meet one night by starlight and find they have stargazing as a common interest. The new friends plan to meet the next day, but fail to recognize each other in the daylight, even though they looked quite similar by moonlight. It isn't until June begins to complain and August recognizes her voice that they are able to reconnect. Stunning realizations immediately follow: not only do they look completely different in the light, they are quite different animals (think elephant and snake) with different ideas of how to have fun.
At first this seems like an insurmountable obstacle, but eventually they are able to find a way to make the friendship beneficial and fun for both of them. This leads to sharing ideas and teaching one another new games, while helping each other along the way. The story comes full circle as they return to their original meeting spot and again gaze at stars from the mountaintop.
Written by Vivian Walsh and illustrated by Adam McCauley, June and August sweetly touches on a core truth of friendship: while there are parts of us that are the same, there are also areas where we differ from one another, which is shown as June cleverly points out, "Our shadows begin and end in the same way. It's mostly in the middle that we're different." It is these differences that offer opportunities for learning and growth, if we allow them to.

Carrie Prejean and Sarah Palin - Strange Bedfellows
[http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=William_Hazelgrove]William Hazelgrove
Now on the surface you may say Carrie Prejean and Sarah Palin have little in common. But in the Celebrity Book Olympics they really are two peas in a pod. First lets talk about celebrity books in the year 2009. Obviously the literary world is on it's head. People are just not buying a lot of books these days and so the cash cow of a Celebrity Book is a highly sought after commodity. Now to enter a book into the CBO (Celebrity Books Olympics) one must be a celebrity. Controversy is preferred. This will give the Celeb book an hand up in the opening days of the CBO. Sexy women are preferred who can help promote the book. Professional credentials are not important in the CBO. Let's meet our new contestants.
Carie Prejean is the famous fallen pageant damsel who said marriage is for a man and a woman. After which she then began to circulate sex tapes and pose in the nude. Carrie then sued the pageant and settled. She is currently on a book tour promoting her book about freedom of speech issues for Fox News and how she overcame diversity and landed on top. Standard CBO fare.
Sarah Palin is the fallen former Governor of Alaska who lost as Veep in the 2008 election with old John McCain. After filing the airwaves for months with political invectives of hockey moms and sixpack Joe's and Joe the plumber ditties she then went back to Alaska and decided she didn't want to be Governor anymore and preferred to run for President. But first she needed a book to right the wrongs done to her in the past campaign by media elitist and McCain operatives and also to give her story of overcoming adversity and how she landed on top. Again, standard CBO fare.
So what are the similarities between these two CBO contestants?
One: Palin and Prejean are both beautiful women with high sex appeal. Nothing sells like sex in America. Prejean has nudged out Palin in this regard with sex videos, but Palin is hanging in there with Newsweek covers and the added drama of unwed daughters boyfriend posing in Playgirl. A distinct advantage in the CBO
Two: Neither Palin or Prejean work at present. They do not have a chosen profession beyond celebradom. This allows the needed time for massive media campaigns, controversy (CBO must) and also keeps people from pigeonholing the authors. A real plus in the CBO.
Three: Both books can be read by an eighth grader with one hundred percent comprehension. Both Prejean and Palin books are about the people who have wronged them and their victimization. Both books are short...five chapters is recommended in CBO guidelines. Both books give us their background of wholesome Christian values. Neither book has a smack of literary quality or uses big words. A big advantage in the CBO.
Four: Once the media blitz ends then both books will be offered at garage sales and flea markets for fifty cents within a year. An absolute must for all CBO books.
Five: Both women are of the same political persuasion and would like to see America return to a 1950's era morality as long as sex tapes and unwed daughters with babies are allowed. Discarded political ideologies always increase the speed of bookstore to garage sale transition. A real advantage in the CBO.
Six: Once the booktour ends then both women have the option to stay in the media for residual book sales. This can be done by creating controversy with more sex tapes or even Facebook posts. Another plus in the final days of the CBO.
Seven: And finally both women will become rich from their books. Proving the old adage once and for all: There is no such thing as bad publicity...or You will never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public. So there you have it. Now, on your marks, get set, ladies...Blab!
William Hazelgrove writes in Ernest Hemingway's attic. His latest book is Rocket Man.
